Apollo Tyres Foundation (ATF) identifies 100 TB patients in 15 days

As a diamond member of Corporate TB Pledge, ATF is leading the baton with momentous active case finding in times of covid.

Apollo Tyres Foundation (ATF) is a diamond member of Corporate TB Pledge. They have TB awareness and screening work with truckers and allied population at 31 locations spanning 19 states through their Healthcare centres. Truckers are difficult to reach community and access to service is most difficult for them as they are constantly mobile.

Owing to success of two earlier campaigns, ATF organised TB Free transhipment location campaign, Edition 3 from 9th to 25th September 2021. The two-week-long campaign successfully screened over 93,000 people for TB, close to 2000 people were tested and 101 people were diagnosed with TB.

The commendable achievement is attributed to several focussed activities including awareness generation by a dedicated team of more than 250 outreach workers and volunteers, TB screening and facilitating sputum collection and transportation for TB symptomatic patients as well as linking the symptomatic patients to nearest diagnostic centre facilities

The campaign concluded with a high visibility ‘Webinar on Partnership for Action against Tuberculosis(PAcT) for a TB - Free India by 2025 (Edition-3)’, held on 30th September 2021. The webinar was attended by 248 people including representatives from corrporates.

The success of the webinar can be ascertained by the fact that five organisations committed to join the CTP during the event, including Ranjan Gaon Industries Association (RIA) and CIAEL. The Corporate TB Pledge secretariat will be working closely with RIA and Apollo tyres Foundation for mobilising more members from the state to join the Corporate TB Pledge. As a next step, one session on workplace intervention is being planned with HR representatives from around 15 member companies of RIA.
