Coastal Gujarat Power Limited (CGPL), Tata Power, a gold member of the Corporate TB pledge, is undertaking several CSR initiatives for improved livelihoods of the people of Kutch, Gujarat. They have recently integrated TB messaging on the packets of all farm products sold through their various centers/counters. The initiative is under their program ”Benchmarking Rural Development for improved income of producers”.
Through this innovative idea, the efforts are focused on generating awareness and sensitizing the consumer base about TB. The messages are in Gujarati and Hindi for easy understanding. The efforts were initiated on August 14, 2021, through an exhibition involving briefing the gathering about TB. The products are currently being sold through one counter and plans are underway to expand it to two more centers with an estimated direct reach to around 1000 families surrounding the centers.
