CORPORATE SUMMIT ON TB AND LUNG HEALTH

Covid - 19 brought to light the socio-economic impact that an infectious lung disease can bring about. Like COVID-19, pulmonary TB too is an infectious respiratory disease. According to WHO, estimated 10 million cases and 1.3 million deaths annually occur due to TB and it continues to be a global health priority.

India’s National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP) aims to meet the ambitious goal, announced by the Honourable Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi ji, of ending the TB by 2025.

The Corporate sector with its reach among workers and communities along with expertise and resources can play a vital role in building healthier communities. Healthy communities begin where we live, learn, work and play, therefore it is vital that the workplaces are ready to respond to infectious disease not only in prevention but also in supporting workers their families in dealing with TB and other lung health issues.

To facilitate such provisions, The Union in partnership with ASSOCHAM is organising a Corporate Leadership Summit on TB and Lung Health. The event is scheduled to be held on January 28, 2022 at 11:00 am. The Summit expects leaders from top corporates in the country to explore solutions to meet the current challenges faced by the National programme and discuss how Corporates can support the programme through their workplaces and community engagement initiatives.
