Quarterly DR-TB Consortium Meeting | 30 June 2021

The third quarterly DR-TB consortium meeting was organized on 30th June 2021 with the objective of sharing the revised PMDT guidelines and showcasing role of corporate sector in DR-TB space.  The event witnessed active participation by 89 members representing corporates from both medico and non-medico sectors.
 
Dignitaries including Dr Sudarsan Mandal , DDG TB, Central TB Division, Dr Reuben Swamickan, Division Chief, TB and Infectious Diseases, Health Office, USAID India, and Dr. K.S. Sachdeva, County Director, USEA, The Union were present at the event.
 
The meeting entailed two technical sessions. The first technical session included a presentation on 'Revised national PMDT guidelines' by Dr. Malik Parmar, National Professional Officer, DR-TB and Latent TB, WHO Country Office for India.
 
The next presentation was made by Dr.Jyoti Jaju, Project Director, iDEFEAT TB project, The Union, on 'Role of corporate sector in DR-TB space'.
 
The next technical session namely  “Integrating DR-TB in corporate supported TB interventions”, witnessed presentations by three leading corporates - Medanta Hospital, Ambuja Cement Foundation, and BEST Mumbai, showcasing their work in the DR-TB space.
         
The meeting was successful in sharing updates on Revised PMDT guidelines, sharing information on setting up of DR-TB center in Medanta Hospital, as well as sharing the process of integrating DR-TB at workplaces and community settings.
