The Corporate TB Pledge Secretariat, under the USAID/India-supported iDEFEAT TB Project in line to its objective of strengthening TB-related institutions in the country has been working closely with numerous corporates and other institutions, which in turn has opened avenues to engage and interact with varied stakeholders including youth, hospitals, PSUs, workforce, civil societies, schools, education institutions etc. Over the last two years, the country has witnessed multiple interventions and actions by different stakeholders. Every year during World TB Day, the country witnesses an ebb and flow of organisations and entities attempting to support the programme by undertaking isolated activities in their individual capacities.
It is now time for a mass movement, with a spirit of ‘WE’ in our fight against TB. This World TB Day 2023, is an opportune time for the country to accelerate the movement against TB, as the country prepares to host the G-20 summit.
The programme would spearhead and lead a nationwide multi-stakeholder campaign to instil the spirit of togetherness for the cause. The month-long campaign will bring together various initiatives that harness the potential of varied stakeholders and catalyse their engagements to accelerate efforts towards TB elimination in the country.
‘‘Yes! We can End TB: 75 Corporates @75 Cities’, the multi-forum campaign will enable amplifying the voices of stakeholders, thereby expanding the reach of the programme, engaging with multiple stakeholders and establishing connections that would ensure sustainability of the efforts towards TB elimination in the country.
As part of the campaign, the Corporate will be organising relevant events/activities (Workplace awareness & screening, plant a tree, hand painting, Community rallies, quiz competition, poster making, slogan writing competitions, address by TB champions, adopting workplace policies etc.) pertaining to TB and awareness generation during the active campaign phase in 75 cities. The campaign will be backed by intensive social media promotion which would be carried out highlighting these series of events tagging all relevant stakeholders.
