Consultation on accelerating corporate hospital engagement for tb elimination in india

As the nation is geared up towards achieving TB-related SDG targets by 2025, multi-sectoral response has taken precedence and especially the engagement of private sector partners like hospitals and laboratories were given utmost importance.  Until recent times, Corporate hospitals and private sector in India, were being viewed as mere contributors for increased TB notification in the country. But over the last decade, there are significant changes being observed with increased engagement of corporate hospitals in supporting the national programme, especially in interventions beyond notification. 

To highlight these potential and share success stories, Medanta Hospital, a Corporate TB Pledge holder in diamond tier, in association with The Union, with guidance from Central TB Division is organised a consultation on ACCELERATING CORPORATE HOSPITAL ENGAGEMENT FOR TB ELIMINATION IN INDIA, on March 3, 2023 (Friday) at Hotel Claridges, New Delhi. The Consultation aimed at highlighting potential of corporate hospitals in accelerating TB elimination efforts in the country and to showcasing different models of engagement (beyond notification) for corporate hospitals to support the national programme

The consultation was attended by representatives from major Corporate Hospitals including Apollo Healthcare, Fortis healthcare etc., officials from Central Ministry of Health (GoI), Representatives from State TB offices, The Union, USAID/ India, representatives from corporates, PSUs etc. and other key stake holders in TB/health domain.

The consultation entailed varying sessions including session which showcased the different models of engagement as demonstrated by corporate hospitals in India, session on innovation in Active Case Finding led by Medanta and a panel discussion session on Corporate hospital engagement with members from AHPI, The Union, USAID/India and Medanta. During the consultation, Medanta also launched its mobile X-Ray vans for as part of Mission TB Free Haryana.
