Intervention Outline

Mobile Medical Units are now an integral part of the general health system, offering services to remote or difficult-to-reach populations. These  can be used to increase access to TB diagnostic and treatment services in the communities they serve.

The corporate could purchase a van, fabricate it with project name, company logos and key TB messages and fit it with the required medical equipment like X-Ray machine. To operate this van, the project would need the services of a project coordinator (part time), technician, field officers, MIS officer, driver and spend of fuel and maintenance.

  1. Increased door to door screening for populations with limited access to health facilities
  2. Establishing linkages between the patients and government services
  3. State-of-the-art laboratory investigation services delivered at the doorstep of patients, reducing the delay in diagnosis
  4. Outreach camps to sensitize communities and increase awareness
  5. Corporate brand positioning in the community

Expected Investment

Capital Cost – INR 70 – 75 lakhs

Operational Cost – INR 30 Lakh per annum

Support from CTP Secretariat

  • Project designing
  • Establishing linkages with the State/District TB Cell
  • Technical support for e.g. guidelines/regulations to follow for X-ray vans
  • Facilitating private-private partnerships (with other corporates)

Roster of Consultants for providing need based technical assistance to corporate members under the corporate TB Pledge and outreach support to CTP secretariat

Corporate TB Pledge (CTP) members often need technical expertise to work in TB space. They need technical expertise for identifying appropriate intervention, in developing project plan or proposals, for planning and implementation the programs, training support etc.  The CTP secretariat, under the iDEFEAT TB project, hosted at The Union, co-ordinates and provides technical assistance to the CTP members.

Over the time, the CTP membership has been increasing and demand from corporate members for technical assistance to adapt workplace and CSR programs for TB and DR-TB care, has also amplified. In view of this, CTP, intends to identify suitable consultants, train and engage/ utilised them for providing technical assistance on need basis. 

We are looking at consultants based out of Delhi NCR, Assam, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Telangana and Tamil Nadu. 

 

Scope of Work:

The Services the consultants may be utilised on task basis. The broad areas of work may include, but not limited to,

  • Outreach and mobilizing of corporates to join Corporate TB pledge
  • Needs assessment for developing projects and programmes
  • Designing projects concept notes, proposals, programmes and campaigns
  • Project implementation
  • Undertaking training and capacity building
  • Facilitating linkages with authorities and stakeholders
  • Documentation and reporting
  • Monitoring and Evaluation

 

We invite proposals from freelance consultants, individuals who are looking at taking up additional work on assignment basis. The consultant must have minimum of 5 years of experience in developing proposals, implementing programs, mobilising corporates etc. An experience of working with the National TB Elimination program or Public Health initiatives will be preferred.
